Meditation for Anger

An angry countenance is much against nature, and it is often the appearance of those near death. I pray that I let go of these angry feelings as they are against all reason. If I must be mad, why should I even live? I need to see the world as fresh and anew without anger and bitterness.

"When angry, count four; when furious, swear." ~Mark Twain

Anger is one of the three poisons according to Buddha. Meditation is meant to extract the anger poison from our system. Prisons offer meditation training as a way to stop violence among the inmates.  Meditating before action gives us a chance to stop an impulsive behavior.
