I know this is early, but our computers at work are acting up. So here goes. Prompt: Florence Martus was the Unofficial Greeter of waving to ships by Savannah, Georgia that came sailing into port or on the ocean. She did this every day from 1887 to 1931. She was "The Waving Girl." Was she waiting for a sailor she loved to return or was she just friendly? A statue of her and her dog is located at Morrell Park, the riverfront of Savannah.

If a statue was made of you, what would you be famous for or remembered as?

I'm very efficient and work-motivated. I have a tendency to be overly OCD about projects and such. If the town created and dedicated a statue to me, what might that be? Hmm? Well, it would probably be a clock or a timetable of some sort, which is kind of sad when I think about it.

I love to read; I read anywhere from three to five books a week. Perhaps a bookworm would be appropriate for me. A bookworm would be a cute statue. The townspeople could put it outside the Discovery Center, which is a local science museum. It is very popular with young children. Perhaps, children would be motivated to read more if they happened upon a giant bookworm. The creator of this statue would design it to look like a cartoon worm because real worms are gross. His bright colors would be so inviting to the children. Young readers would gaze up at this friendly reading motivator and think, "Hey! That worm looks like he's having fun. I think that I will try reading." His green skin and the red book would almost give a holiday feel to the entire scene. Yes, indeed, a bookworm is a fitting tribute to my life.
