Finally Friday!

It has only been a three-day week, but it has been exhausting.

Here's a recap of the week...

This week's targeted learning was transition words. On Wednesday, the students read and analyzed a timeline. Yesterday, the students created their own timeline. Today, the students wrote a narrative using transition words and phrases effectively.

As with most weeks, some lessons go better than others.

Have you had your students read "Eleven" by Sandra Cisneros? The story is poignant in the way that it captures the angst and pain and heartache of being a middle school kid. Today, for silent reading, the students read the short story and responded to three comprehension and recall questions. The students then worked in teams to compare and discuss answers.

The weather outside is frightful...
Not really. It has been quite mild throughout the Southeast.
It did sprinkle some today with just the slightest hint of chill in the air.
Supposedly, we might get some snow at the beginning of next week.
Resolution...I promise not to wish for snow every Sunday in January and February...only every other one.

How many preps do you have? I have four.

Well, it is seven thirty in the evening. I hope you get a chance to relax and recharge.
