Write a response to the following.
I am...
I feel...
Be creative. Be original. Be thoughtful.
You have five minutes to write.
There are three forms of pronouns. There is the subject case. When used as a complement, it is called the nominative case. Unlike nouns, there are only a handful of subject pronouns. He collected the tickets for the pancake supper. She danced a solo in the recital. They ran the marathon together. It is she. We are they.
The last two sentences are in the nominative case.
Some pronouns are used on the objective case. Him, her, them. When a pronoun is used as a direct object, an indirect object, or the object of the preposition, we are using it in the object case. I gave it to him. This is the spot where a lot of students get confused. Many students use object pronouns incorrectly.
The third form of pronouns is the possessive form. This is the form that shows ownership. That dress is mine. Her hair is quite lovely.
Some pronouns are in more than one form. When that happens, you have to look at the context.
