What is writing? It is defined as putting down symbols to spell words in a logical order to communicate ideas. You use writing every day: to communicate, express, question, persuade, synthesize, teach. it takes years of practice to gain control, to master, the art of the written language. Learning to write well is a gift that no one will ever be able to take away from you.

Learning to write well is a bundle of skills: sequencing, spelling, grammar, revising, and many more. but, these are skills that you can practice and get better at.

Here is a writing prompt for you: Write for 15 minutes on how you feel about writing.

The lessons that you learn will be varied, depending on your needs as writers. Sometimes, you will get information on how the class works. you will have lessons on the writer's process. You will learn about the qualities of good writing. hopefully, you will learn to revise, proofread, and edit your writing.

Where do writers get their ideas? They read their own writing and that of others. They talk to friends. They keep diaries and journals. In fact, most writers say that their writing journal is their most important tool for becoming a better writer.

What should be your long-term goal as a writer? You should write in a variety of genres, like narrative, informational, descriptive, persuasive. You should deepen your understanding of the relationship between reading and writing. you should learn the writing process. you should master the conventions of English.

You need choice, real choice, and a genuine voice in what you write. Choice will help you find your voice. Writers work best when they have a sense of ownership.
